The National Sporting Library and Museum provides a public lecture series, a children’s program, gallery tours, book signings, a Book Fair, exhibition lectures, roundtables, seminars and full-day symposia. Ivy Circle and Chairman’s Council members participate in “Treasures from the Rare Book Room.” There also are special events such as a polo match, a historic coach weekend and a new Museum gala.
A research center for equestrian and field sports, the NSLM has the John H. Daniels Fellowship which is awarded annually. Scholars from around the world may apply for periods up to one year. Disciplines include history, literature, journalism, art history, anthropology, area studies and history of sport.
